2010 Tryout Information - 1/4/10
The official tryouts for the 2010 season will begin on February 1, 2010 at 3:30pm on the back field. In order to tryout you must have a current physical (which can be downloaded by clicking here) - no exceptions. All players that tryout will make the team. The tryouts are designed to determine the level of competition that you will be best suited for based on your ability and potential. Dress for the occassion as temperatures will be VERY cold. However, have a set of clothes to train in in the event that we practice indoors - this means bring BOTH CLEATS AND TENNIS SHOES as we will train everyday. For information on dues please click here. Get Out and Play - 6/1/09
As the Summer and Fall seasons approach we encourage all players, returning and new, to join a soccer program and play. To the right of this page are links to nearby soccer programs. The more you play the better you are and the better you are as an individual the better the team will be during the season. If you have any questions about the registration process, or otherwise, please contact us and we will do what we can to help you get in a program for the Summer and/or Fall.
2009 Award Winners - 4/20/09
Though we did not enjoy the success that we had anticipated we showed a lot of growth with a very young team. Congratulations to our top award winners for the 2009 season:
As a coaching staff we are very pleased with the young team's effort this year and wish the graduating class all the best as we look forward to a more successfull year next year. Lithonia Has Tough 1st Half - 3/6/09
The Lithonia HS Boys Soccer Team is having one of the worst starts in team's history. After seven matches and only one win, the Bulldogs have played themselves out of playoff contention. The young team can only hope to gain experience through the rest of the season in preparation for next year. Though the play of the Lithonia Soccer Team improves with every match the score board offers little consolation to their hard work and diligent efforts. Last year's offensive player of the year, Marvin Williams, has tied his scoring production from last year, with eight goals, but has not been able to spark an offensive chemistry with his teammates to get them going. His fellow midfielder and Team Captain Bradley Young has played bigger than his ninth grade status would lead you to believe of him. Praim Siribothi has left the field to help the team out by plugging in the vacancy of Goal Keeper for the team; his sacrifice, dedication, and hard work to learn the new position cannot be understated. Many player have played hard despite the team struggles including Joseph Toby, Fastino Buronez, Aki Baldeh, Rorian Hayles, and Munir Limay, just to name a few. The Lithonia Bulldog Soccer Tam may be out of the playoff hunt this year, but are definitely not to be counted out for the remainder of the season. With all their tenacity and continued hard work they are sure to play the spoiler role for teams remaining on their schedule. Lithonia vs Towers - 2/12/09
If a team needed to have a bounce back game more than The LHS Bulldogs did today, I have yet to see it. With hopes of rectifying the trouncing that they received at the hands of Forsyth Central HS, The LHS Bulldogs took the field versus Towers HS. It did not take long for LHS to exert its dominance on the pitch; six shots were taken within the first 3 minutes. By half time LHS led THS 3-0 thanks to a corner by Hassan Darboe to Praim Siribothi, a pass from Bradley Young to Paul Williams, and a PK by Marvin Williams. By the conclusion of the match LHS had amasses 8 total goals and left THS scoreless. All five goals in the second half were finished by senior M. Williams assisted twice by P. Williams, once by H. Darboe, Joseph Toby, and Munir Limay. In addition to the 6 goals by M. Williams he had 14 saves that played a part in the shutout versus THS. With such an all around performance Marvin William earned the team's distinct honor of being The Lithonia High School Player of the Match. Please view the game clips section of the site to see highlights of the win. The next match up is Feb. 17 versus The Marist Schools; this is a region competition. Lithonia vs Forsyth Central - 2/11/09
What a way to start the season! Lithonia Bulldogs were coming off a very strong previous year and wanted to build from their success of last year. However, with only 2 returning starters this year and 10 graduating seniors of last year the youth of the LHS Bulldogs showed against a very strong Forsyth Central. LHS started the game strong spending an equal amount of time controlling the ball as FCHS in both the middle third and attacking third. Nevertheless, it was an open man on a corner kick that found the back of the net for FCHS in the 18th minute. Five minutes later a failed off sides trap allowed FCHS's second goal and opened up the flood gates from there. Within the next 3 minutes, four goals were scored against the LHS Bulldogs. By the end of the first half the score was 7-0. According to the mercy rules for the state of GA the second half was truncated to 20 minutes. During the 12th minute of the second half FCHS had scored their 10th goal sending the game to an early retirement. If The LHS Bulldogs were waiting on a rude awakening, the FCHS Bulldogs were happy to give them one. With this match up being within the region LHS has given itself less wiggle room if it wants to claim one of the four playoffs spots offered within their region. The next match up is Feb. 12 versus Towers HS; this is a non region competition. New Policy on Shin Guards - 1/25/09
Georgia High School Association (GHSA) has regulated that for the 2008-2009 soccer season players must be equipped with shin guards that display a NOCSAE logo showing that this organization approves of the safety of the equipment. The mission of the National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) is to commission research on and, where feasible, establish standards for athletic equipment.
Links to shin guards that meet these new standards are listed below I found prices to be reasonably. In link 4 I found NOCSAE approved shin guards as low as $4.00. link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4 Order now because retailers may be swamped with calls due to the new regulations. If you do not have the NOCSAE stamp/seal you cannot play. Preseason Information - 1/11/09

OR
Do you want to register for the winter season that starts mid December and ends at the beginning of the school's season (mid January) and have to register by the end of November - meaning all money to be paid by November 15, 2008.
A couple things that have to be considered when we talk about Indoor Soccer
Please notify Coach Johnson or Coach Knox if you are interested in playing. Parents WIN 3-2!!! - 5/18/08
The Players vs Parents game was a big success... for the parents as they went on to win 3-2. They Players played hard, but with their fathers, brothers, uncles, moms, cousins, and coaches against them can you really blame them for loosing?
The annual game was preceeded with an awards banquet where this year's top winners were Marvin Williams - Offensive Player of the Year, Richard Hayles - Defensive Player of the Year, and Muhammad Ansari - Most Valuable Player. All the players, parents, family, and friends that came out made the banquet a great succes and the game much fun. It was a great way to end a successful season knowing that we will have much more to celebrate come this time next year. A Trip Down Memory Lane - 5/1/08
LHS Ends With Top Record - 4/22/08
LHS lost during the first round of the playoffs to a formidable opponent of East Coweta HS 2-1. The 9-5 record that was posted has been the best in school's history since the 1982 season.
Richard Taylor had an exceptional first half shutting out the powerful East Coweta offense with 17 saves. In the second half, Lithonia struck first with Marvin Williams scoring a penalty kick at 36:14. The 1-0 lead was held until the 9:46 mark when East Coweta tied the score and with only 6:32 left scored the go ahead goal on a penalty kick. The Bulldogs fought hard, but fell short of equalizing the score. Though the season did not end as the Bulldogs had hoped, they had a very successful season and hope to build a tradition of winning for years to come off of this strong season. This has been the second consecutive season that the team has made the State Playoffs and will not be a stranger in years to come. It's Playoff Time: 1st Round 4/22 - 4/16/08
After a disappointing shoot out loss versus Union Grove HS, The Lithonia Bulldogs are ready to turn their fortune around in the first round of the AAAAA State Playoffs. Dropping to fourth place in region 2-AAAAA, they are forced to travel in the first round.
After being delayed twelve days, the battle for the top seed in Region 2-AAAAA was played. Union Grove struck first on an obvious miscue from Lithonia. A union Grove player threw the ball into the net after sliding through the hands of Lithonia keeper Richard Taylor. The Bulldogs would not be outdone and cut the score even when Muhammad Ansari scored a goal from Marvin Williams at 0:00. Union Grove would not be outdone as they took the lead once again at 0:00. Muhammad Ansari then proved why he is the leading scorerer for the Lithonia Bulldogs by taking a pass from Odane Adams and tying the score at 0:00. No more goals were scored in regulation or overtime, thus resulting in a penalty kick shootout in which the Lithonia Bulldogs came on the short end of 3-0 shoot out. Despite the loss, The Lithonia Soccer Team gave Union Grove a great game and will serve as good preparation for both teams as each head into the State Playoffs starting 4/22/08. We Are In!!! LHS 6 - MLK 3 - 4/14/08
After a come from behind win versus region rival Matin Luther King, Jr. HS Lithonia Boys soccer team has earned a place in the AAAAA State Playoffs.
